About Us
Established in 1977, The Julie Morton School of Dancing is the longest running dance school in Tring. We offer a variety of dance styles, including Classical Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Musical Theatre, taught by experienced and qualified instructors who are passionate about their craft. We aim to create a supportive community where our students can develop their skills, express themselves creatively, and have fun while learning.

Performances
Every few years, we put on a show-stopping performance in a professional theatre, giving our students the chance to show off their skills. The most recent being the 45th Anniversary Showcase: Melodies of Broadway. In between our theatre productions, we have incredible opportunities to perform at both the Tring Christmas Festival and the Tring Summer Carnival.
Student Success
For decades, The Julie Morton School of Dancing has been providing students with the tools and techniques needed to succeed in the dance world. Many of our alumni have gone on to excel in their careers, performing in London's West End, on BBC TV shows, and in television adverts, graduating drama school, as well as the becoming members of the English National Youth Ballet. We are proud to have played a part in their success and are committed to continuing to support our students' aspirations. To view our student's success check out our Alumni page.

Exams
We understand that dance is more than just a hobby – it’s a passion. That’s why we strive to offer a diverse range of classes that cater to dancers of all interests and dream pursuits. Our approach to exams is a reflection of this – we believe in making it optional so that every dancer can choose to take the exam when they feel ready without any external pressure. Our exam results speak for themselves, with a 100% pass rate, reflecting the dedication and hard work of our students and teachers.
Our Founder - Julie Morton
Julie Morton trained at the Royal Academy of Dancing and the Royal Ballet School and, after some years of performing in the theatre, opened her first Julie Morton School of Dancing in Chesham in 1975. The Tring school opened in 1977 and a further branch of the school ran in Gerrards Cross for 15 years, with many excellent displays and RAD exam results to her name.
Julie Morton sadly died in 2000, a victim of cancer. The school continued to flourish under Julie’s daughters Belinda and Jennie. Both are former professional dancers who trained at the Arts Educational School, now the Tring Park School for the Performing Arts. Mrs Belinda Williams is now Principal of the Julie Morton School of Dancing and Jennie Morton is an Osteopath and a recognised authority in the area of Performing Arts Medicine, now resident in the USA. They both continue to maintain the school in the successful tradition established by Julie Morton and the whole school celebrated its 45th anniversary in 2022 with a highly successful show at the Court Theatre (now DEMBE) in Tring.
